Values & Mission
Our vision at the Good Funeral Company is for a just, equal and generous society where people are empowered to make decisions that help them say goodbye to their loved ones with dignity and respect. We realise the needs of each individual are different and we strive to be a fully inclusive and fair funeral care provider in every circumstance.
Our work is rooted in the values of kindness, generosity and unconditional acts of love. Through these values we promote justice and show peace to others. For us kindness and goodness aren’t just ‘added value’ they are at the heart of everything we do and are what connects us to each other.

Social Justice
As a part of the Social Justice Team in the Diocese of Liverpool, we are committed to fighting funeral poverty. We work closely with our funeral directors, and local authorities to meet families where they are, offering a range of funerals and services that are conducted with dignity and respect, regardless of a person’s social or financial status. We are proud members of the Network of Kindness who provide a range of support services within our local communities.

Our Celebrants
The Good Funeral company consists of three celebrants, who all bring their own varied life experience to their roles.
Our celebrants understand the way in which families come together to express grief and sadness, and how each member of the family needs an opportunity to be heard. Your celebrant will always be willing to include everyone in the conversations, children, siblings, friends and family. In this way, we know that we can create the best ceremony possible.
Personalisation
The service we write with you will reflect the life, values and personality of your loved one. People leave feeling they knew or remembered the person more deeply.
Meaning and Ritual
Rituals, religious or secular, can provide structure, comfort and a sense of continuity. We are able to incorporate rituals from any culture or background within the service we write, which in turn helps mourners mark the transition from life to death in a meaningful way.
Community and Support
The service brings people together to grieve collectively, to share memories and to support one another, even a small or private funeral can feel powerful, if it allows space for connection.
Expression of Emotion
The service allows honest expression, tears, laughter, silence, or even confusion, without judgement. People feel safe to mourn in their own way, and we will support them in any way we can.
Respectful & Well-handled
The ceremony is handled with care, respect and attention to detail, regardless of scale. The logistics, timing and tone are thoughtful and not rushed. With our guidance we will ensure that every element of the service you want is met within the time that we have at your chosen venue.
Closure & Hope
A good funeral offers a sense of completion or farewell, and may plant seeds of healing, helping the bereaved begin to live with their loss.

Tracey comes from a background of counselling and social work, and brings compassion and understanding to her role. She is calm in a crisis and is able to guide families with empathy. Tracey plans all of the memorial services for the company, using her extensive knowledge of Liverpool Cathedral, and her passion for writing meaningful services.
